Book Contest & Book Sale
Signed Andreas Deja Sketchbook Up for Grabs!
by Daniel Caylor in Books
Update: The winner has been messaged. Check your social media! Stay tuned for more giveaways.
I realized I haven’t given anything back to you wonderful readers in a while. The Eric Goldberg sketchbook giveaway went over quite well last time, so I figured I’d just follow suit. This time I’m giving away a signed Andreas Deja Sketchbook to one lucky subscriber. You can be following the blog any way you like, via Twitter, Facebook, or Google Friend Connect. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to access all three methods. I’ll randomly select a winner at the end of the month. Andreas has posted some samples from his sketchbook on his blog. Good luck!

I thought I was finished with the book sale thing, but it turns out still I have a few more books I’m looking to sell. Plus, when I surveyed you guys earlier this year I was surprised that a lot of you wanted to see more book sales. Who knew?
Almost all of these are in really good condition as I take pride in my books. I’ve tried to make it easier this time by including shipping in the price. These prices cover shipping to most destinations in the U.S and Canada. In some cases it will cost more. I will ship internationally as well, but shipping will vary dramatically so I’ll deal with that on a case-by-case basis. As with previous book sales, the more you buy, the more you save on shipping. Here’s what I have up for sale right now:
- Let’s Do Nothing by Tony Fucile (Very Fine) – $20 (Includes Shipping)
- Mickey Mouse by Pierre Lambert (Very Fine) – $70 (Includes Shipping)
- Pixar: 25 Years of Animation by Oakland Museum of California (Fine, minor tear at top of spine) – $42 (Includes Shipping)
- Bugs Bunny: 50 Years and Only One Grey Hare by Joe Adamson (Fine) – $25 (Includes Shipping)
- South of the Border with Disney: Walt Disney and the Good Neighbor Program, 1941-1948 by J.B.Kaufman (New) – $40 (Includes Shipping)
- Drawing Scenery: Landscapes and Seascapes by Jack Hamm (Fine) – $20 (Includes Shipping)
- Dynamic Wrinkles and Drapery by Burne Hogarth (Very Fine) – $22 (Includes Shipping)
- To Infinity and Beyond! The Story of Pixar Animation Studios by Karen Paik (New) – $45 (Includes Shipping)
- Hollywood Cartoons: American Animation in its Golden Age by Michael Barrier (Very Fine) – $22 (Includes Shipping)
- Film School: How to Watch DVDs and Learn Everything About Filmmaking by Richard D. Pepperman (Very Fine) – $18 (Includes Shipping)
E-mail me using the form below for sales or if you have any questions. Thanks for looking

Christmas Give-Away!
Nicolas Marlet Scetchbook, Don Bluth DVD, Chronicle Art Of Book Giveaway
by Daniel Caylor in Events
The Christmas Season has officially begun, it’s December first people! Your lights, tree, and advent calenders should all be up and ready for the coming weeks. If they’re not, shame on you! Stop being a Grinch/Scrooge (although they are great characters) and get to it! Watch some great Christmas movies. I’ve watched Muppet Christmas Carol (My favorite) twice already.
The November Give-Away (Eric Goldberg Sketchbook Winner) has been announced on my Twitter page. Didn’t win? Don’t despair. The December Give-away is just as good, if not better! It starts today, so if you entered for the last one, all you have to do is…well…nothing, I guess. That was easy! But if this is your first time stopping by, mosey on down to the bottom of the page, and join the Google Friend Connect thingy. That’s where I choose the winners from. This month I’ll be picking a winner on December 24th. How exciting!
The December winner will get three things:
- A Signed Nicolas Marlet Sketch Book (#540/1500) – I already gave one of these away in my first give-away, rest assured that aside from my copy, this is the last one I’ll be giving away.
- A Copy of Don Bluth’s Banjo the Woodpile Cat 30th Anniversary DVD – While the film is good, this one is really all about the bonus features.
- Mystery Gift (?) – The winner will choose from a selection of the wide-format Art of Books published by Chronicle Books.
This give-away has a value of about $100, which is a really nice gift for someone out there. Make sure you use the store for all your Christmas shopping on Amazon this year. It all comes back around with these give-aways. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas this year. Thanks for making this a special place, good luck everyone!

Update: Today’s the last day to enter. See below for instructions. Tomorrow I will announce the Christmas Give-away!
I’m pretty amazed at how this blog is developing. Through it, I’ve met so many amazing people. Blogging is something I enjoy doing when I can find the time, and I’m glad I’ve found so many people that enjoy the same things I like to share. Now that the Christmas Season is upon us, and people are using the aStore a lot more than usual, I think it’s about time for another give away, possibly two, don’t you? So in an effort to grow the community and show my appreciation, I’ll be giving away a copy of Eric Goldberg’s Sketch Book, “Enjoy It While You Can, Kid.” Hopefully we have time for another giveaway before Christmas.

So, how do you get your hands on it? Same drill as before. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and join the community via Google Friend Connect. If you’re already in there, you’re already entered. I’ll randomly select someone on December first and mail them an early Christmas present. I’ll announce the winner on my Twitter feed. Oh, and by the by, it’s signed by Eric Goldberg too!
The more people that use the aStore, the more I’ll be able to do these fun giveaways. I’ve never intended to make a profit from the blog, so once the maintenance costs (server, domains, etc) are covered, the rest goes back into the site. Here’s to a bright future.
