Dragonboy, a film I posted last year, recently won a Gold Medal in the Student Academy Awards in Animation. You can see the film-makers (Bernardo Warman, Shaofu Zhang and Lisa Allen) accepting their awards below. I personally thought the film was an incredible effort for a student film. I’ve always been impressed with the work that comes out of the Academy of Art University, which is why I ended up attending the school back in in 2007. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford to go for more than a couple years. It’s a great school though, and I totally recommend it to anyone that’s looking for a good animation school. You can read more about Bernardo, Shaofu, and Lisa by clicking their picture below.

I know its a bit late, but I wanted to mention what a great job that the Double Negative crew did on Inception. They were up against some really good films this year who also had a lot of great VFX, including their own! Dneg is a very creative place to work, with so many friendly talented peeps. Anyway, great job guys!
