Academy of Achievement Speech
Here’s a speech that made me reassess (in a positive way) what I want to do in the animation world. What makes you happy?

Picturing Movement
To those who live in London and are involved with the art of movement, get yourselves to the Degas exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts. Not only the famous works by the master himself but you will also get the chance see work by other artists, photographers and film-makers who had also been fascinated with movement. Its amazing seeing all the research taken into understanding this. Check it out!

Animation/Design/Storyboard/Direction
Want some inspiration?
I was lucky to be able to work alongside Gary during my time on John Carter of Mars. I think I have learned more about movement, drawing, film-making and design from him than anyone I’ve ever met. Above all he has a great sense of humor!
He really has a wealth of experience. Projects like Space Jam, The Thief and the Cobbler, Prince of Egypt, Sinbad, Runaway Brain and Gnomeo and Juliet, are just to name a few. He has also worked on a variety of commercials and TV shows, some of which are from my childhood! I can’t wait to get the chance to work with him again! These are just a few images I have selected from his massive portfolio, so you better check out his character designs, animation, illustrations and storyboards all on his website!

A very inspiring short with beautiful photography. This is why we give every waking moment to our art.
